Spent 3 wonderful weeks at The Reef Resort, East end - Riviera, Grand Cayman Islands.
If the fantastic veiw of surf, sea & sand don't start the relaxation process;
the warm staff will. The friendly greeting @ front desk on arrival (Sophia). Doris & Kiwi Dan at Beach bar
to mix your favourite libation, Captain
Morgan concierge extraordinaire ! To name a few but they are all very friendly.
Simple relaxation seems to be the theme
of the resort and its working ; for sure! Combined with light entertainment at night, swimming pools, hot tubs,gym, Spa,fitness classes, cycling, tennis & snorkeling ; this place is relaxation "Central". Dining seemed more casual than formal but was very good.
Looking forward to our next visit. The three R's at the Reef are -Relax, Recharge & Revitalize.
Best wishes to all for a safe & prosperous new year.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick few day get away. A place away from people, from the cell phone, from the internet. A friend of ours had mentioned Grand Caymen as a great place to see so we started our research. The Reef came up as a great place away from all the cruise traffic and a great location for couples, not many kids there. To be perfectly honest we read review after review and nothing but good things were said so we booked it. I made sure to get the all inclusive package for two reasons, first I heard that Grand Caymen can be expensive (something we noticed when we were there) and second, because I did not want to have to worry about money while I was there. The reef is about 30 minutes from the airport and is on the opposite end of the isle which was perfect for us being away from everything. There was a grocery store across the street and a great bus driver \\\\\\\"Welcome\\\\\\\" was his name who was just a bunch of fun and will take you into the city if you want to sight see. Melissa and I checked in and got to our room, went to the slidding glass door that looked out on the beach and what they do not tell you is that you dont just look onto the beach, you walk out onto the beach, 40 feet away and the ocean is crashing on yoru feet. The people that work there from the Bar tenders outside to the reception desk people to the staff upstairs at the restraunt were all very friendly and always willing to help. One other thing about the resort that we did not expect was that every night either the reef or the neighboring resort had something going on, from \\\\\\\"The Bare Foot Man\\\\\\\" to limbo contest to just dancing. When it was all said and done the place was amazing and washed all stress from the body. Melissa and I have decided to book the Reef again for our Honeymoon this June. Although instead of a quick three day retreat, we will be there for over two weeks this time.

My gift to my son was a paid in full honeymoon. I didn't want him or his bride to worry about anything. I booked and paid for everything in advance (back at the first of Sept.), or so I thought. The Reef Resort did a wonderful job. They were happy and were having a great time. The resort was keeping an eye on a hurricane that was coming there way, and keeping guests happy.
On Thursday, Danny and Jessica, went to the spa to have the couples massages that I had pre-paid for them. They were told that it didn't exist. They were told that one couldn't pre-pay. They in my book, were treated rudely. Danny told them that his mother had pre-paid for everything months ago. They did get massages, but not nicely. When Danny called me to let me know what happened, I tried to find out what happened. The only I can figure is that someone did Not input the information back in Septempber. I made all the resevations on the same day. But the funny part is that the next Monday, I had a charge to my credit card. I call and asked where they got the information (because my son didn't have it), The Reef resort gave it to them.
Watch out people!

Lyndell and I chose Grand Cayman for our honeymoon because we didnt know anyone who had been there before. I chose the Reef because of its distance from the airport. Little did I know what a perfect choice we had made. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the staff was wonderful, and neither one of us can remember having been so relaxed in all our lives. There are so many things to see and do on (and off!) the island that a week is not enough time. I've read other comments about the price of food, and yes, it is a liitle pricey, but thats based on the strength of the US dollar. The Castaway restaraunt is the on-site eatery, and while the service is without par, the food is ok. If you stay with Caymanian dishes it's excellent, but they need a little help with steak. The concierges there are simply amazing, helping with everything from booking different siteseeing trips to printing up boarding passes for your trip home. If you are looking for a wonderful relaxing vacation, free from all the hustle and bustle of the west end of the island (too many people/cruise ships/etc.), then the Reef is absolutely the best place on the island to stay.

Absolute paradise. Beautiful beaches, always clean, great views, great drinks. Favorite part was the beautiful sunset cruise on Friday: delicious appetizers such as chicken kabobs, shrimp, a delicious cheese and spinach dip, and fried fish "cubes" - DELICIOUS. The rum punch and music (I must find out who the singer was!) put on by Micheal Mann made this evening the perfect way to end your stay. Micheal Mann and the concierge team did everything they could to meet my every need. Thanks again everybody!-(Barb Hobbs's son) Matt

This resort is everything they say and more. The staff is amazing, Jake the concierge is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and he deals with everyone with an amazing sense of humor. The rooms are spectacular. Fully stocked kitchens, and all are ocean front. The ocean front view is the best I have seen and the beach is spotless and uncrowded and the water is the most beautiful shade of aqua blue I have ever seen. Never a problem finding a beach chair at any time of day either. You do need a car to get around this part of the island, but the serene calm and beauty of the "east end" is well worth it. Nowhere on the island is more than a 45 minute ride or less. The restaurant is very good and so are the close by restaurants. We are planning to come back next year for 2 weeks!!!

The resort was beautiful. All the rooms are oceanfront. Great snorkeling around the pier. If you want to go anywhere off the resort, you will need to rent a car. Taxis are very expensive. We love Grand Cayman and would come back again
